Furtuni de Bard

Ca sa va inspaimant putin, uitati prin ce trece statul New York zilele astea. Inclusiv eu :)

To the Bard Community:

As an addition to the high wind warning already sent, I would like to add the following
thoughts:

* the stately old growth trees we live with, admire, and walk under may
attempt to harm us. They tend to loose branches and may even fall - keep
vigilant and look up now and then. Be prepared to duck.
* the usual power outages should be expected. Get your computing work
done now and back up any of your brilliant thoughts.
* as the sun sets and the power leaves on its brief sabbatical, having a
working flash light is a good idea. Remember NO CANDLES!!! it is a
mandatory $500 fine.
* the temperature will drop dramatically - bring a warm coat with you
this evening.
* keep your cell phone charged.
* if you are on the roads with a car or bike, the winds are powerful
enough to blow you off the road - Annandale Road will also have large
branches and trees to make your trip interesting and memorable. Drive
slowly - Be careful
* Call friends and family now while you can - explain to them that you
live in the wilds of upstate New York. electricity is a luxury item.
* DO NOT USE ELEVATORS!!! If you live in a dorm or work in a building
with an elevator, use the stairs. If not, our security staff will be
practicing their rescue skills... on you.
* the last wind storm crushed three vehicles parked under trees. If you
own a vehicle you would like to keep for another semester, try to avoid
parking under a large tree.
This weather experience is set to begin after 3pm. After midnight the
wind gusts may be over 75 mile per hour with accompany rain.

P.S. Zilele trecute am suferit de caldura. Am avut maxima de 20 de grade Celsius (la sfarsitul lui noiembrie!). Azi avem furtuna si vant foarte puternic. Maine se pare ca o sa ninga! Ce nebunie!
Daca nu intru pe net zilele urmatoare, inseamna ca a picat curentul electric :)
